Using Canopus Procoder for VCD creation

Can anyone tell me how, or point me to any kind of tutorial to create VCD's with Canopus' Procoder? I have the software but even the help file doesn't tell you how to make compliant files, just how to convert mpg's :( - perhaps i'm not looking hard enough but if the application is as good as it is made out to be I'd like to try it :p

thanks.

"Add" your video file you want ro convert
then go to Target and hit "Add" a new window will opens and select...."MPEG1 VCD PAL" or "NTSC"
then double click on the target file to open the settings (Setup - Video - Audio Filters - Target file Spliting- speed- Quality......)

Denexo, thanks for your help but i don't want to convert a file. I want to know if it's possible to create VCD standard MPG files WITH Procoder by loading VOB files into it? I don't see the point of converting MPG files with this program as they are most likely to already be VCD compliant. I guess this program is great if used with a capture card, no? But I don't have one of those... i just heard that it creates the best VCD compliant MPG's available if time is not an issue. Any more info please?

I am not sour if I understand you.
You want to create a vcd without converting?
Procoder is an encoder – converter and not to create!
You can’t load vob files direct but you can use a video server plug-in or you can rename the vob file(s) to mpeg to load into it!

I know many people starting from myself, who will agree with you about "faster and cheaper" but disagree about Procoder´s quality.

there is no doubt that procoder makes better quality vcds than tmpgenc.
But for the amount of extra time taken u could have done the movie twice withh cce as svcd , which is of much higher quality than any procoder vcd.
If u only do 1 vcd everyother day and dont use your pc for anything else then procoder is the best.
If not............
