The Linux build with the antialiasing fonts (XFT) is a bloody mess... most important extensions get killed.
The Windows version seems to behave more normally, although I don't use Windows that much anymore, so can't tell for sure.

aebrahim"s build (and all his builds) are only w32 compiled, never built linux.
For Linux, have u tried daihard"s builds? (XFT and non-XFT)

I know about aebrahim's builds... and daihard releases don't behave any better for me (still I have just a PIII).
