Unable to read files in cdroms previously burned after switch from win ME to XP

Recently i formatted my com and switched the os from windows ME to Xp. After the switch, i realised that i can't read any of the files in all of the cdr(30 odd) i burned before the switch. The details and names of all the files can be seen in windows explorer, but the problem is i cannot play them, right click the files, copy, rename, and the message: "The disc structure is corrupted or unreadable" The odd thing is the files in the cdrs can be read abd performs normally in my friends' computers.

Other useful info is: Im using a pentium 4 1.5ghz, os as win xp pro, cd hardware as creative cdrw 12/10/32x, and the prev files were burnt using NTI 2000 cd maker. In addition, in another forum, someone pointed out that the reason could be due to different format as in joliet and UDF format. I think the prev disc were burned using joliet.

Thanks for reading this thread, please get back to me if anyone can help me solve this problem :)

Can you find out the DMA status of your CDRW drive? (its under control panel/system/hardware/device manager). Expand there the IDE controller icon, and pick up the IDE channel your burner is hooked on.

Hmmm, which burning appz do you have installed currently?
If its working correctly on a friends pc,then tis not the cd.
The creative cdrw is a b*tch, like my HP. Dyu have another cd/dvd drive to test the cd?
If not, can you fit another drive on ur pc and test the cd on it?
If it still can't be read, then tis a s/w problem.
Most probably a driver conflict (kinda like sleazy cd creator wiz nero on same box)
