uk ISP BT-OPENWORLD ditches the OPENWORLD brandname!!!
BT OPENWORLD will be renamed "BT - YAHOO" from september as the company seeks to enhance its broadband service to attract new customers.
An overhaul of the "BT OPENWORLD SITE" will see the addition of web content from YAHOO, such as news, entertainment and sport.
Customers will also get access to YAHOO'S SPAM GUARD email filter and YAHOO messenger.
BT will primarily be promoting the "BT YAHOO BROADBAND" brand, but will also be renaming its dial-up services "BT YAHOO Internet Services".
YAHOO will continue to operate its own SEPERATE web sites and internet services in the u.k. and elsewhere.
BT said existing customers will not have to change email addresses.
The new ALLIANCE comes as BT announced its one millionth BROADBAND customer.
