UDMA settings

What is the best BIOS setting for UDMA, when ripping DVD and/ or copying CD?

Have red the Asus manual 50 times by now, and all I get out of it is that UDMA is the greatest. But heard earlier in this forum, that it only mess up things.

Got an Award Bios (Asus Rev.1009). Got following drives installed:
Primary Master: HD / Primary Slave : DVD (LTD 165)
Secondary Master: CDR/W (LTR 24102) / Secondary Slave : CDR/W (Acer 8x4x32)

To make it simple they are all set to "Auto" under >Type< in bios. But this gives me following UDMA setup, which I cant' change:
PM: UDMA 4 / PS: UDMA 2 / SM: UDMA 2 / SS: Disabled

If I want to change/disable the UDMA, I have to change to following setup under >Type<:
PP: "User Type HD" / PS: "CD-Rom" / SM: "CD-Rom" / SS: "CD-Rom"

Would it be best to go for this setting with UDMA disabled on all 4 drives?
 
The original settings look fine bud.The Acer only works in PIO mode 4.That's why it shows disabled under UDMA.

Ok, I'll keep the original settings, and not changing anything.

But was wondering since Pokopiko earlier said following in another thread:

"As for DMA on it sounds OK, but you have to check two things: a. the drive supports this mode (consult the manual), and b.UDMA support is disabled withion system bios, else it will fuck up".

Yep,everything is okay,the drives that support UDMA are detected correctly,at proper speed.The Acer is disabled UDMA in bios which is also correct for it.;) Relax...:)

Each drive on ide port is sampled by the bios anit determines what the drive is by detection this then detumines how the drive
talk to each other. example = if master drive on controller one is ata 100 and the slave drive is ata66 thats how the bios uses it in relation to cpu and memory. But if you trancfer data to the master
from the slave then it will connect at ata66 what ever the slowest drive is on that IDE port. LBA modes can be activated for any drive that meats the standard and if the slave is PIO like most
burner then if you write data from the ata100 drive to it on the same channel then it will opperate at PIO
