trouble with encoding

Hi, right iam stuck betweena rock and a hard place. i want to fit a 7 gig dvd onto a dvdr. I no how to rip the subs and stuff using ifoedit, thats the easy part. Its the encoding that give me a headache. I tried it a couple of months ago and the picture was bad and the sound was a mile out. The films are spy game and harry potter. I have tried doom9 and I still can't do it. Can anyone help? Thanks

Have you tried to stip the streams?------_http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-basic.htm------ I don't know too much about it myself. Haven't had too much of and interest since I don't have a dvd burner yet but, I pick up a few things here and there so when I get one I'll be ready.

U need to rip only the movie. Other's than that, keep a side. Why?
Is becaused a DVD Video + Suround DTS or Dolby Digital 5.1 is out of the DVD 4.7GB u used. Most DVDs is DVD-9 press out from factory. It can hole about 2 solid hrs more and encoding in high bit rate.

It still can be done. By making 2 DVD-R. I have post the site, which how to made. Can't post here. Check your PM. Thanks.

you will need to use smart ripper to rip the film - then u will need to use rempeg to reduce the film down to 3.9 gig - make sure the film ( m2v ) file and the ac3 file have the same name - then use spruse up to match the sound and the film - then copy using spruce up - full instuction can be found on vcd help
