Trouble converting SVCD to DVD

I'm having trouble converting a SVCD mpeg to a DVD compliant mpeg.
I used isobuster to extract the mpeg file from a bin.that went well then when I loaded it into DVD source creator,I got the error message saying that the file can not open or unsupported,as the attached image shows.
It is the first time that this has happened .

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

Are you sure you chose the "Extract but filter only M2F2 mpeg frames" option in IsoBuster ? The latest GSPOT now inputs mpeg files so check that the SVCD extracted mpeg is what you think it is.

I did chose Extract but filter only M2F2 mpeg frames and after the mpeg was extracted I played it with WIN DVD and it played fine.

I tried to encode it with Main Concept mpeg encoder and it picked the mpeg up fine but when I encoded it to DVD mpeg the video was out of sync with the audio.

I will try GSPOT and get back to you ChickenMAn.Thanks :)

Okay, thanks. What you have looks like a typical stock standard PAL SVCD with 44.1khzmp2 audio so nothing unusual there.

I'd suggest you Demux the mpg file using TMPGenc and then re-mux them back together again as SVCD (or as a MPEG-2 Program stream if SVCD is greyed out) using MPEG2VCR (www.womble.com). Then try loading into your DVD source creator again.

That worked ChickenMan,but now the problem I have is that the Video and Audio is out of sync, you see the people talking and then you hear the voices.Any Ideas.

ChickenMan,I worked out the video/audio sync problem from one of your tuts but the problem that I have now is the movie starts to play fine then starts to slow down and gets very jerky. Any Ideas??

Thats the problem you get when playing with TMPGenc produced or muxed svcd files unfortunately. I really suggest you saty clear of any TMPGEnc program when converting mpeg2 or svcd files, just 2 many sync problems all the time as you have found.

Remember this post? http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=31247

"I do a dirty trick to encode SVCD to DVDR. Rename the extracted MPG file (must be a true MPG file, not one just copied off a CDR) to VTS_01_1.VOB and get an VTS_01.1.IFO file off any DVD. Put both in same folder and follow the DVD to DVDR tutorial. One thing to change, change the CD size in the Bitrate Tab from 4400 to 2200 if there are 2 CD's or to 1466 if there are 3 CD's. Then use DVDLab or Maestro to author them and link the movie1 to start of movie2, etc. as per the link above. You may have to convert the audio from 44.1 to 48 manually using BeSweet and as always, convert the audio to AC3 as well. You will end up with a very nice DVDR."

Well it works, I have NEVER had a sync problem with it, I'd suggest you give it a try. You can now use QuEnc encoder (free) with near CCE quality.
