I just bought a Toshiba SD-M1612 dvd and a Verbatim 24/10/40AL burner for my PC. and if anybody knows if the Toshiba 1612 is a better (CLoneCD) SD2 reader than my Verbatim (rebadged Lite-On) burner.
As you were suggesting me to set error correction to hardware and 0 retries for the Verbatim burner instead of the default values is there any advantage to set the error corr. to hardware for the Verbatim?
Actually Verbatim defaults software and 0 reatries, but the Toshiba defaults hardware and 3 retries. I don't know which one set as a reader for sd1 and sd2
Yes. It changes from software to hardware correction when I try to make a image file. So do you know if hardware error correction is better than software for sd2 titles?
I'm sure about the Verbatim it is a rebadged Lite-ON, I had Lite-On 40125S new ones but I didn't like when it played audio disc ( if you know about muzik and audio you'll notice how crappy it sounds compare to Verbatim which is Lite-On
Thanks for the information. I tested again and Clonecd changed error correction from software to hardware for the Verbatim and I know it is Lite-On I even called Cendyne tech to make sure and the tech guy told me it is actual Lite-On but uses different firmware and the drive won't to update Lite-on's firmware I think because of the ID string.
