This is the first thing I want to commit. But then I also want to defend my self a little. (And I do think I speak for many others, just being stupid newbies).
Honestly, I am among the guilty persons who visited this great page using a popupkiller. But listen, I HAD NO IDEA about the problem/importance in that. I did never give those settings in my ZA a thought. I did first learn about this problem today when I wanted to log in, and was shocked to realize that the page has been closed down. Then I went to the forum and read the threads about the subject. Then I checked my setting in ZA, and I realized that I got popupkiller established. Call me stupid if you like, but I did simply never gave this point a thought.
Maybe you should have been a little more careful about explaining the importance of this setting before, in a way so even stupid people like me could understand it.
Same thing with vote at the download page. I have done a lot of downloads, and I do think I only clicked the vote link once or twice. But I did not know the importance of this. If I had known (understood), I would of course have clicked it every time.
Well N.B., today I feel very, very bad, because you build a great site, and I feel I let you down in an extremely bad way. I do really hope you will reconsider to reopen it. Please, we do all make mistakes, and as the many like me, who did not give the importance of the popupkiller or vote link any thoughts, you should maybe try to print the important of this out in neon, so that all stupid visitors/members like me would get the point.
Please N.B., do reconsider your decision by giving the upper mentioned a thought. Please do not blame people for something they did not know. Please give us a chance to correct our mistakes. If you do not do that, how can we correct it?
Also another suggestion: The fan club of CDRSOFT is enormous, and I’m sure many, many people want to support its existence with payment. But it has to be simple. People are lazy, and if it’s too complicated they will never get it done. A simple way would be to publish a bank account to where donations could be send. Many people do now have “Home banking”, so they can do such a transfer from their computer at home. For people like me, who do not have that option, I would not mind to spend the 10 minutes it would take to go to the bank and arrange a transfer from there. It’s cheap, and it’s easy. (Sending checks are far more complicated and costly for common people).
CDRSOFT now got a great widely reputation on the net. Use that. Do like others forums are doing. If people do not want to register, if people do not want to support, then limited their access to special areas. Example, do not give them access to download and not give them access to all forums. Believe me, CDRSOFT is famous, and you should use the power that gives you.
This could hopefully bring you in an economical position where you would be able to set up rules for the popups as well. To the content of those I mean. As it is today, I guess you have to take what you can get. Imagine your self in the position where you only need to take what you want. And with your popularity it's for sure possible.
Please give it a thought. All the knowledge I DO have today, I have thanks to the greatest site I ever come across on the Internet: CDRSOFT. Do let it die due to some misunderstanding (because that's what I think we could call upper mentioned facts).
