TMPGenc

Hiya All

I have just made an SVCD with TMPGenc now i want to chop the file into 2 parts, the file will load ok, and will let me edit it where i want to chop the file, but when i click run TMPGenc closes, the file size is 2.69Gb, does TMPGenc have any problems with this kind of file size?, is there any other tool that i can use for cutting this file.

Thanks.

I'm not aware of TMPGEnc not being able to handle such large files, but many people have problems cutting SVCD under Win XP.

The simplest solution is to use Wombles MPEG2VCR. Its been posted here, so just do a search for it.

By the way, you will have to cut the file in to 3 pieces if you want to burn each to 90 or 99min CDR's or into 4 if your using normal 80 or 74min CDR's.

Hi and thanks for replying Chickenman.

I tried an older version of TMPGenc which worked fine, the version i was using is 2.51.33.127, d`no if this version has any compatability issues with my OS "XP Pro", maybe that`s the problem.

And yes your right i did have to chop the file into 3 parts, the burnt files will play superb all the way through on my PC, "excellent quality", but look a bit blocky on my standalone DVD player, thought this might have been the other way round, all the VCD`s that i have done look mint on the DVD player, weird, i think the quality VS time and number of Cd`s (VCD vs S,VCD), i will stick to making VCD`s.

Anyways thanks for the help.

Yourve done it the right way, you make both and choose the best that suits you.

Remember, just because your DVD player supports VCD does NOT mean it automatically suports SVCD. There are lots of DVD Player SVCD playback problems.
