TMPGEnc & Quantize Matrix Selection

TMPGEnc Plus (MPEG Encoder) , in the "SETTINGS" section has a sub-section called "Quantize Matrix" where you are given the choice of three (3) settings : DEFAULT, MPEG Standard, CG / Animation.

Can anybody, please, tell me the difference in concept, use and results of those three options?

As far as I have noticed... no distiguishable difference, at least to my eyes..

Thanks

Attilio

Your right there is almost no difference between them all

The Default is the best all rounder used by most encoders nowadays.

MPEG Standard is the one that was used when the original MPEG standards were drawn up over a decade ago. Included for historical reasons.

CG/Animation, this one can/may improve the pic if the movie your encoding is Computer Graphics or computer Animation, like most recent cartoons or ones like Shrek.

Generally just leave it on Default and you will not have a problem.

Thanks Chickenman and Presindente..

Chickenman I have played around with TMPGEnc and I will appreciate if I you allow me to ask around 3 more questions that the online help does not solve at all

Best Regards

Attilio.
