TMPGEnc Plus Problems

Hi!

First Thanks for the program.

The funny thing is that I am getting Error when I try to Encode AVI file to MPEG.

The first time I tried it, it went fine... but now... everytime I try, I got error ALL The time. It says Error 57852858 and so on.

How can I fix it?

I encoded on film (AVI to MPEG) but the sound did not apppear, and so I I tried it one more time (the same file) and now I only got error.

(Dont realy know if this is the right page to have this question on by the way)

  :(

Since the last two Versions i get Error Messages like yours 2.

I Dont know what it is.There must be a little bug in the new Engine. Then with an older TMPG Version i dont get Error Messages.

I can give u the Tipp to Download an Older Version and test it with that.

perhaps it is a problem with the avi itself. I am not having any troubles with the last 2 versions.
Many times you will get an avi with errors (especially if you get them from kazaa or other places on the net).
In these cases, the errors normally have to deal with sound errors on the movie file.
So you extract the sound from it with virtual dub (save as wave/wav) & then load the movie as video source & the new wav as the sound source.
Could be other issues, but will move this thread into a more appropiate section (as our guru or others can help your better there).

NO...... its not the AVI!

YOu see..... I made a Mpeg from the avi first. then I did something wrong with it... so the formate was bad... faces was looooong hahahhahha it was a widescreen picture....

When I did it one more time.... the error came... and it came on all the other movies that I`ve tried.

well then suggest you follow the tutorials instead. 'Cause myself & a few others I know are not having this problem.

PS
you can't tell if the avi has an error by just playing them ('cause they will play normally without you noticing any problems *it's in its subchannels & such), but if you say nothing is wrong with them then most likely you are doing a step wrong/wrong configuration while you make your mpegs.

I am also not having or had any problems with any of the latest versions of TMPGEnc.

The problem is not every DivX (AVI) is the same. They are made with different DivX codec (3.x, 4.x & 5.x or even Xvid or MS MPEG4) then with different audio (MP3, AC3, Ogg, etc). Even different frame rates are use othere than the traditional 23.976, 25 & 29.97fps. With this wide varity of DivX formats, its not always a simple matter of load it into TMPGEnc, load a template and hit Encode. It will work for some but not for others. TMPGEnc can only handle WAV, MP2 & MP3 audio, anything else will error out or give no audio. Unless you have the correct codec installed for the video part as well, again errors or black screens end up being encoded.

Basicly what I'm saying is there can be lots of problems with AVI conversion. Sometimes the early version of TMPGEnc will not give same errors as the latest versions, I would suggest a try of ver TMPGEnc 12a (attached).

Cheers,
