the best quality in vcd pal

make first the dvd to avi in 720x526 and high bitrate
the size in its very big it is O.K merge in 2 part the movie

and now with tmpgenc make your vcd with little noise redaction
and the result is perfect

That´s nice but you need a lot of time and it´s useless because the avi-DivX you made is not better from the source (DVD), so why double encord? and not from DVD to Video CD?

ChickenMan where are you? :)

It always take a long time and the end result will never be better than the original remeber its being done by software not hardware it takes on average about 4 or 5 hours altogether depending on the length of the original to do divx with easydivx and then Vcd with Tmgpenc you have to reach a balance between the two of course if your pocket is deep then harware is the way to go. good luck on yer Quest:p

So DVD to DivX to VCD is giving you a bether VCD than DVD to VCD? Sorry, cannot agree!

If you have all the time in the world, suggest you look at Canopus Procoder, otherwise look at the DVD to VCD using DVD2SVCD tutorial, it produces the best quality VCD's I have ever seen, including commercially produced VCD's.

I do not believe it becomes something from what to me you say because I have measure comparisons for vcd
I have seen from many what vcd they make and I do not believe they do something exceptional any it does not believe for what I say I can to go up a sample from my work above in vcd

Locke, if you try Chickenman's tutorials you will get super results, he has been at this a while.. your method is flawed.. (and that's putting it politely..)

You are wrong just because you have to encore the file twice! Some quality will be lost during the first conversion (DVD to avi-DivX) and then converting the avi-Divx to mpeg1-vcd you will lost some quality again.
Why you don’t try to encode the original file (DVD) at once to VCD?
If you are not satisfied with ChickenMans tutorial (I don’t believe you don’t) try the following:
1-Use DVD decrypted or xxxx to rip your DVD
2-Rename the vob file to mpeg
3-Convert and split the mpeg2 file to mpeg1 VCD with Tmpg or better Canopus Procoder! (I learn about Can.Pr. lately too, and don’t believe my eyes with the results)
