Not sure what context you are referring to "protection" in...
My guess is that your are talking about CD copy protections? If so, check out this thread:

As of this post, this thread was directly above your new post. Clony XXL works good for me, although being relatively new to 1:1 backup creation process, Im not sure if it is the "best". Im sure that Poko or another veteran of the board might be able to give even more suggestions...Im sure this topic has been covered extensively.
