?The Best GNU/Linux Applications?

I'm shopping/browsing around for quality applications for Mandrake and was wondering what the opensource users here on this forum thought were the best applications or RPMs in the following catagories:

?Best Office Suite?

?Best Multimedia Video App?

?Best Multimedia Audio App?

?Best CD-R Burning App?

?Best Development/Programming App?

?Best GPL Game?

Also, throw in any applications/proggies that you couldn't live without. :)

audio app -> XMMS h**p://w*w.xmms.org/ - something like winamp, maybe better :)

ofice -> OpenOffice h**p://w*w.openoffice.org/ - this is very good, but on my duron 1,2GHz, 256MB RAM is quite slow

development (php) -> Zend IDE h**p://w*w.zend.com - IMHO this is the best for developing php but it's no free

h**p://w*w.photodex.com/products/compupic/unix/index.html - CompuPic picture viewer

h**p://w*w.krasu.ru/soft/chuchelo/ - Downloader for X - internet download manager

Hm, dont play, so i ll leave this answer blank. NWN should be good, but ressource intensive.

- Best Office Suite : Openoffice though it's a bit too "ugly", I hope Koffice will be #1 one day
- Best Multimedia Video App : mplayer to play divx/mpg, ogle for dvd (though I never watch dvd on a PC)
- Best Multimedia Audio App : xmms, though I'd like to have it as a KDE app lol
- Best CD-R Burning App : k3b, GearPro, Fireburner
- Best Development/Programming App : GCC 3.2 + Kdevelop, quanta3 for html/php
- Best GPL Game : quake2 ah ah :)

I couldn't live without VIM _http://www.vim.org, without KDE _http://www.kde.org/, without Mozilla _http://www.mozilla.org/
