IMHO a pointless question;Jackel12 said:The best burning software?
Indeed... there really is no perfect or "best" software. However, there is the "best" software for the job. The all in one approach is not always the wisest choice. I personally use 4 different burning proggies to get the job done.Duracell said:you will find "specialists" and "alrounders", but you will never find "the best" software
Yeah,I agree with you On WinOnCD,I've still got the old CEQUADRAT WinOnCD 3.7-a good program, sadly doesn`t operate with XP.Roxio won`t support it anymore.Whenever I want some fun with it though,I boot Windows 98/Me up and run WOCD just for some good memories....LTR12101B said:A debate that will never end - Most software will do MOST tasks with varying degrees of ease and ability - while some require purchased plugins to what others include as standard.
The two MAJOR and highly polarized groups seem to be those who like or dislike NERO, and a similar polarization on Easy CD Creator - the two most bundled programs!
Nero and Easy CD Creator are probably the two biggest.
WinOnCD has some nice features (also from the ROXIO stable - but after acquiring from CEQUADRAT, thet really don't do enough with this gem).
Prassi-based products (RecordNow and others) - once strong contenders, but suffering from a lack of focus due to frequent changes of ownership!
NTI CDMaker is one of the "best of the rest", and B's Gold is also a minority following (bundled with some SONY drives).
I used to be loyal to Easy CD Creator, but my allegiance is now Nero - though when I give this wreck of a system the long-promised format and Reinstall 98 or upgrade to XP, I might find I can get WinOnCD to work again - it was a FUN program for audio, with a "filter track" to apply and position effects.
I used to use Feurio (nagware trial) - but not found the need for it lately - though I'll use a lot of tricks to get by with freeware / bundles programs and coverCD stuff - I think I'd describe myself as being simply "anti shareware" now. Not the place, but I might describe a recent remastering task over in the audio section - and then you can decide if my techniques are mad, bad or sad!aybesea said:I've found that by owning Nero and RecordNow Max, I can do pretty much everything I need to. Although I also own Feurio... hands down the best burning app if you do much audio.
Hmmm..."Napalm" Don`t know this one.BTW I`ve an old copy of DiscJuggler lying around somewhere which I`ve never installed and used..Never bothered with it..Might try it one day just for a laugh...The-poacher said:Napalm burns all media faster than anything else
but a close second (IMHO) is discjuggler but I dont use it.
Try em all make your own choice.
Heh Your local Arms dealer has some but juggler is cheaper!!serjer said:hey poacher ,were can i get zat Napalm thing?thx
Nice one, catachresis. If it`ll run on XP,(Not really an issue as I`ve now got 98/ME on another partition if any hardware/software compatibility issues crop up-It`s always still handy to have...) You may have brought to light a "hidden treasure" I never realised I had...Thanks,m8!catachresis said:Plextor, if you check the archived posts, you'll find that a lot of very good things have been said here about Diskuggler in the past (and it's still my main burner). It's stable and extremely accurate (especially in burning some forms of copy-protected media). Whether its substantial price makes it a contender with other free-ware and less expensive shareware apps now is another question.
