Taskbar & Start Up Menu Problem

Hi, Can anyone please help me ? Although nothing major, more annoying than anything, is when I go into TASKBAR & START UP MENU PROPERTIES then Customise Notifications the item I select to eg. "always hide" reverts back to "hide when inactive" when I next log on to my windows xp. Anyone know of making the selection permanent ? Anyhelp would be much appreciated ............ Thanks

Delete the inactive icons. You don't use them so what's the loss.

Hi and thanks for reply .... silly question but how do I delete the inactive icon from the task bar, something I looked at doing but could not see how to do it, sorry for sounding thick

Uncheck the "Hide Inactive Icons". You should then be able to see all of them. I believe that you should be able to right click on each and disable that way. I may be wrong.
