Above is some info on the discs that I have. As you can see, it supports 1x,2x,4x write speeds, but I'm only getting a 1x burn speed. I forced a 4x write speed, but no go. I've used Nero 6, DVD Decrypter, and Alcohol 120%; I forced 4x on each software, but onlt burned at 1x

I have DMA mode turned on.

Reading what some of the members at dvdrhelp said if fact I'll quote "This stuff is cheap, but you know what they say, "you get what you pay for."
And other say they could only burn at 1x. So based on what I've read I would say your not doing anything wrong that using different media couldn't fix. Have you tried any other media?

Same burner, same firmware. Stick to a tight range of media: Ritek G03/04, Sony, Verbatim +R, Intenso +R (manufacturer Optodisc- a Prodisc branch). The Sony can be a coaster machine with the wrong media inserted...
