T2 ultimate edition headache

Just ripped, stripped, transcoded T2, removed seamless branching and burned up.

Problem is, on the H.D and from dvd-r, using Power dvd xp it all plays fantastic, however, using Hollywood+ and in mine and a friends standalone Sony it jerks all over the place. It can't be the disk because it still does it in file mode with the Hollywood as well as from the dvd.

Anyone got any ideas?
I know I selected the correct cells to keep in ifo edit 0.9 (treble checked) I got vts sectors after recompiling....I'm totally stumped.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi, i ripped using Smartripper 2.42, stripped using ifo edit 0.9. DVD2AVI 1.86, vfapi then cce sp 2.62 . The whole of the movie jerks, it's almost like it vibrates. It's very strange, I've never come across it before. It's odd that using a software player(power dvd xp) it plays perfect, but hardware(Hollywood+ and Sony standalone) it doesn't.
One thing I'm not sure of is; in dvd2avi, I previewed the vobs to get the info for interlaced/progressive and it was flicking between progressive and MOVIE??? Which I found odd. So I selected progressive.Ive only ever come accross progressive and interlaced before.

Oops missed a bit, remuxing was done using Spruce-up.Ive not tried using Sonic Scenarist on it but will do, the audio has -18ms delay and I know that using Spruce it wouldn't affect it, but wasn't sure about Sonic, as a friend did a dvd with audio delay and had really bad lip synch problems which he didn't get in Spruce.

ok ... I think u should try Scenarist .... maybe spruce causes trouble ... get AC3DELAYCORRECTOR ! it´s corrects the delay ...

I get such results u mentioned when I try to remux CCE Files with Ifo Edit or TMPEG...

WELL, just tried Sonic Scenarist and the problem is still there.I'm going to give it another go from scratch.I think I'll NOT select PROGRESSIVE in CCE. Or do you think that is right? As I said before it switches between progressive and movie when previewed in dvd2avi.I don't know what "MOVIE" is.

Sorry to be a pain, but the help given saves HOURS as you're probably well aware....My poor old Athlon 1700xp has started sweating at the thought of all the encoding it has to do again:D

Thanks again

No, in Spruce I wouldn't have been able to compile it if I'd imported ntsc with pal settings (a mistake I made once before) but in Sonic I selected ntsc 16:9.I'm gonna re do it all, treble checking everything, especially at the CCE stage, I don't think I'm doing anything wrong in ifoedit.I strip extra audio and remove seamless branching, selecting which cells to keep, which I read from ifoedit.

I think it can only be a setting problem in CCE, I'm going to do 4 passes, but it's the progressive/interlaced tab I'm unsure of.
Has anyone else come accross "MOVIE" as a type in dvd2avi?

Thanks for suggesting it though, an easy mistake to make.

hmm... yeah ´..maybe something @ cce is wrong ... but try to change the settings ... transncode 5minutes of movie ... watch it ...and if everything is ok...continue transcoding ...

btw. take a look at the guide "Getting best out of CCE" on doom9 ... there is a screenshot which shows the right settings...

sorry mate for beeing not much help... but there r some differences from PAL to NTSC exact @ this point ... cause @ pal these settings don´t affect the movie noticable ;)

Ok, will check out the guide @ doom9, I re-tried and still got same results!!! Still, it's only time wasted (while asleep or at work, so no big deal) not money on dvd-r's :D

Thanks for your help, I'll let you know if I ever crack it.

Cheers
