I use Sygate and MyIE on W2K. I have blocked ALL Windows services and never had any connection issues although XP may be different.

Sygates own forum is a good place to start looking if you want to check which services are required for access:

_http://forums.sygatetech.com/index.php?

The following site is useful to give you a good idea what services do and which ones can be disabled:

Hope you find what you need.

Im also running sygate pro on XP, and also noticed outgoing traffic from C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe.

I blocked all fraffic from this a couple a days ago with no problems.

I thought maybe more microsoft shit so BLOCKED it.

@DMA - I've never had connection issues with win2kservicepack3 either, thanks for the links,

given that I'm just using xp for games, the urge to return to win2k is very strong at this point..

@scaz69 - Good to know I'm not the only one!
