svcd

Just D/L ifilmedit to try and cut the encoded mpeg file encoded with TMPEGenc, when i drag the mpeg file into the footage box i get an erroe message this is not a valid mpeg file cant unload controls created at design time, then ifilmedit quits, is there any other cutting tools that will do the job, by the way the encoded mpeg file is 1.89gb and the wav file is 1.08gb does this sound about right for SVCD, the original ripped files were 3.4gb.

Ifilm edit works only for mpeg1 files SVCD are mpeg2!!! Use Tmpg to cut the file in half. Yes the file size soounds about right!!! Why do you have 2 seperate files 1/video & 1/audio?? When I use Tmpg I always get 1 file.

Yes i have been using tmpeg

Followed chickenmans tutorial "Back up your DVD`s to (S)VCD all is well untill i come to cut the file, after selecting the first part of the file that i want to cut i click ok, then i get anerror message :
At Address 73f91064, read error occured against address 73f91064, I have tried selecting a different part of the movie to cut , but still i get a read error, followed the steps for cutting again, think ive done everything right, any ideas.

Thanks...

I had that problem with a older Tmpg 12i, or j can't remember. Which Tmpg you using?? I have the new one (2.50) never a problem with it. What OS you running??

Thanks for the reply.

I think i am using 2.01 the name of the file where Tmpg is located
Tmpg- 2.01,30.116-vpf, i am running Windows XP Pro, does Tmpg have a problem with this O/S?, i will have to try with a newer version, see if that sorts it.

Thanks.

Just wanted to add.I get the same access violation messages when cutting with Tmpgenc.I just ignore the message and continue too.The files are cut,and work just fine.;)

I'm running XP Pro also I've never gotten a problem error with Tmpeg cutting files, but from my expierence that's the nature of different systems and setups!!!!!!! Like Woody said proceed anyway I've seen where others had this same problem and they do as Woody always fine..
