Svcd to Vcd

I have to convert svcd to vcd in order to watch cos my karaoke player will not read svcd.
I use DVD2AVI first then save project. I then use TMPGE and input the D2v for video source and either the original Svcd file or the Mpa file (once converted to WAV) for audio source. Most of the conversions that are done in this manner turn out fine but sometimes I get a periodicaly high pitched bleep kind of sound when playing the burned CD. This only lasts for a split second but then the volume drops very low and eventualy builds back up again until it does it again. Sometimes the audio disappears altogether for periods of 10 seconds or more??

Hi CM. As you know its a long drawn out process having to do this with every single burn so I dont really have the time to check all of the original downloads which are all in Bin format. I first extract from Bin to Svcd using Vcdgear. I select 'Remove Cd-i mpeg Bumper and Repair mpeg errors', just in case there are any there. I tried playing one of the svcd files on my pc last night prior to burning and the glitches was present there also. This now narrows things down somewhat. So I now presume that the error is either already present in the original download or vcd gear is causing it. I have now started to extract the svcd from the bin file by first mounting the image and then using iso buster for the dat file. Seems ok.
In answer to your questions, I have not tried playing the Wav or Mpa as stand alone and I use Nero for burning at either 16x or 24x. Unit is a Liteon 48x burner and media is 48x.
Tmpge will not accept the mpa files or mp2, it just freezes. I either have to convert to wav first or use the original svcd file as audio source. Tried most versions.

VCDGear is good but one should NEVER use the Repair MPEg Errors feature, it seams to make the file worse not better as you have found out. Isobuster never fails.

Thanks for reply. With the prices of dvd players coming down now I think that I wiil treat myself to one in the new year. Its taking me up to 3 hours per movie conversion. Much easier and better to burn svcd direct. Still, its been an experience if nothing else.
Why is it that Tmpg sometimes accepts svcd as audio source and sometimes it wont. Same applies to mpa files. I sometimes have to convert to wav first.

I really have no idea why it accepts some mpa and not others. I assume its a header problem of the mpa that TMPGEnc is very fussy about, rejecting some and accepting others.
