SVCD plugins for Nero

I have some question about this plugins.

1) If I have a AVI file and would like to decode it to SVCD, will the quality be bad?

2) Will the Widescreen be distorted? I mean will it keep the same widescreen appearance?

3) If the AVI file is more than 80 minutes, what do I have to do to prepair it to SVCD, if I wanna use the NERO plugins?

i think the best tool for you is Tmpeg encoder.
with it you can decode any video (avi, DivX, mpeg1-2) file as mpeg1 or 2 , it will be quickly and the quality is best (depence of the source quality) also you can merge and cut parts of a mpeg file.
At the end you can burn it with Nero and you don´t need the svcd plugin from Nero.

I agree.
Nero willprobably stuff up the quality of the movie.

Nero will make one of the worst quality SVCD's possible. Use it for burning (what its designed to do) and use encoders to make SVCD's.

The best quality will come from CCE, using DVD2SVCD. Its all described in this tutorial: http://forum.cdrsoft.cc/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15298
