SVCD Header Trick!

Hi,

I am a total newbie and trying the VCD Header Trick but the problem occurs when TMPGEnc gives an error message saying "Illegal MPEG Video Stream" when Simple Multiplexing and does not do anything to apply the VCD Header Trick. Also, does the Header Trick involve the Simple Multiplexing or Multiplexing in TMPGEnc??? some websites suggest Simple Multiplexing other Multiplexing, which one is correct???

How can i go about fixing this problem?? I have downloaded some codecs, encoders and stuff as mentioned on this website but i am not sure if i have gotten the right thing so please be specific about what to get, if i do need to get anything to solve this problem. I have also tried changing the priority in TMPGEnc.

The orignal video (AVSEQ01.MPG) resides in 'MPEG2' folder among other SVCD folders on my hard drive which was ripped or extracted from the bin/cue files. As, u would have already guessed the reason why i am trying to apply the VCD Header Trick is because my panasonic DVD player won't play the SVCDs. Your help and any respond would be much appreciated.

P.S. I just wanna be able to play the SVCDs on my DVD player retaining the same quality and figured to try the VCD Header Trick cuz it sounds promising if i am lucky 'nugh...if ya have some other effecient way of doing the same thing, please be kind and lemme know!

First of all, you dont need any "codecs, encoders and stuff" as you suggested, all you need is TMPGenc.

The MPG files you (AVSEQ01.MPG) is not a true MPG file and needs to be converted to one first. Open the Cue/Bin file in Isobuster and then RIGHT click on the AVSEQ01.MPG and select "Extract but filter M2F2 mpeg frames". You now have a true mpg file. Select Simple Demux in TMPGec to demux the file, then select Simple Mux to join then back togethert but select VideoCD, not SVCD. Best of luck.

no doubt VIPER_1069...i mean thats the least i can do is thanks...i am at the receiving end and i do recognize it, so i sure ain't ungratefull about it either...if it wasn't for ppl like u, probably i would be stuck with what i got....knowledge is power, i be powerless so thanks for sharing it with us!

As I have said many times, all I'm doing is passing on my experiances to those that havent quite got there yet or just starting. If I dont have the answer, I'll point you in the right direction.

@jorel, yes I see you on the other forums, you are a brave person indead. I to have felt the wraf of those forums also. They end up the loosers, not us.
