Hi all,
could somebody tell me what I am doing wrong, please ?
I'm ripping and converting a DVD to SVCD with DVD2SVCD using CCE 2.50.
I do it with 2 audio AND 2 Subtitles (not permanent). Everything works fine. The program is making the bin/cue files I am asking for with VCDXBuild. The XML files in the folder are revealing that they took the right files (bbMPEG ..... subbed !!!) so I can assume that the subtitles are included in the image files.
Now my problem is that I am not able to switch any of the subtitles on when watching the SVCD on my ( I have to admit) older standalone DVD player - it's a Lasonic 2000. I do have 2 audios which I can switch very nice, but the subs are not accessible.
I've tried the burning step many ways: with Nero (yeah, I know what you will tell me), but also with VCDEasy/CDRDAO. I tried the tricks with MPEGAV instead of MPEG2 directory in the settings of DVD2SVCD or tried PBC use selection/playlist. Nothing helped.
Bottom line: do I have to live frustrated given that my DVD player is too old and cannot handle SVCDs with subs, or is there something I'm doing wrong or is there some other setting I didn't knew about ???
Thank you guys ... and girls of course
