I had troubles with VCDEasy (ASPI), and went back to good ole' faithful Nero. Just finished burnin' "We Were Soldiers", excellent film ;) Have Nero installed and MPEG2_SVCD plugin installed?

This also happened to me - I ended up reencoding for 780MB disk which would fit.

Very annoying after all that encoding time!

:(

I have been using the latest DVD2SVCD 1.1.0 Built 1 for a couple of months now and have NEVER had it produce a file to big not to fit onto a 80min cdr. Some of the earlier versions did that occassionally. The author was aware of the problem and has fixed it in ver 1.0.9 Build 3. Even then, it only ever went over by 2-3 seconds and just turned on overburn and never a problem.

Get ver 1.1.0 Build 1 from this tutorial at the bottom, http://forum.cdrsoft.cc/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17356 and install over the top of your current version.

but there were 4 files...

that was the problem...

2 files(cd1,cd2) was ok, and would fit

the other 2 files(cd1,cd2) but HAD the SUBTITLES WAS TOOOO BIG....so yeah...

and i wanted to burn the one with subtitles...and i played both on WMP, both didnt have any subtitles? what now?

If you have in Misc tab "Dont Delete Any Files" ticked, then you will end up with the 4 files. As the 2 smaller ones are produced first and them muxed with the Subtitles later to produce the next 2 files.

As I said, early versions of DVD2SVCD are prone to produce slightly over sized files, get ver 1.1.0 Build 1, it never fails (well not in the last 50 or so conversions I've done.) or set CD size to 795 in the future.

WMP does not have subtitle playback (as far as I'm aware), try a decent player like WinDVD.

Finally installed 1.1.0 and still the same prob.

I'm convinced that it's because my burner is so old and crappy, not a software prob. (It really hates overburning)

kieofwoo, by the way, what version of DVD2SVCD were you using before you installed 1.1.0 B1 ?

aimunregistrd, PowerDVD, I have no idea sorry. I havent used that for any real length of time (only testing) due to its poorer playback picture compared to WinDVD.

1. Select VCD Imager as output on DVD2SVCD
2. Install Daemon Tools
3. Rip Your DVD :p
4: Mount the first CD Image (.bin file) with Daemon tools and diskcopy the virtual drive that appears with your fave copying prog.
5: Unmount the first image and mount the second image and burn.

There you go, no too big errors, just a nice SVCD on a 800MB CD.

Any further probs just ask...

I use nero, select burn image from the file menu.

The images created by dvd2svcd are normal larger than the size of the disk, this is taken care of in the image.

Image is compress to fit.

Sorry to take so long to reply! I'm glad to here that you're back on board.

To answer your question, I was using 1.0.9 B3

Glad to be back.

A new beta version of DVD2SVCD has been issued and is working fine for me and cuts perfectly everytime. I suggest you dlete all files from your DVD2SVCD folder and install 1.1.0 RC4 into same folder. Get it from doom9 forum at _http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36896 , firts post by the Author.
