I created a backup of a DVD9 to DVD+R and I included just the main movie and the subtitles. When you play the orignal dvd on my Philips 580MT subtitles are off by default if you select them from the menu they work as expected. When you play back my DVD+R the first subtitles (english for hearing impaired) defaults to ON instead of off. How can I prevent this. I reauthored the DVD with DVD Shrink.

I'm new to forum, been reading quite a bit, had my Sony DRU-510A for a few days.

setting default subtitles

I'm also curious how to set the default subtitles for a movie. I'm using a combination of dvd decrypt, dvd shrink, ifoedit, and then burnatonce for the actual burn [based off my readings from tutorials on this site].
The first few movies I've ripped put the default audio and subtitles that I wanted. However, I'm not running into instances of the default language or subtitles not being the ones I want, or in the case of subtitles not off or on [depending on what I want the default].
Any way to set the defaults using dvd shrink or some other tools.
