subtitles not working

ok, created everything with dvd2svcd, went great, set the cd size to 790MB


it created 4 files, 2 had the file name with subtitles
the one with subtitles were bigger of course

burned those(the one with the file name with subtitles)

but when played in my dvd player, no subtitles! what's wrong?!
i didnt select permanent subtitles too

i pressed the subtitles button on my dvd player, no go.

i tried on the computer also(powerdvd) no luck!

what's wrong?! help! thanks!

hi,

on the computer you will not see the subtitles, although they are there. And unfortunately, very few standalone players have the ability to play the subtitles, I know for sure 3 of them: scott (838, 839, 840) cat (924) and hdt (Hyundai). Either you buy one which is able to read the subtitles, or you give up. Best is to have a cd with you in the store to check it there !!! It´s what I have done.

ahhhh but i have an apex 5131, it can play subtitles(as said on vcdhelp)

so the subtitles are actually on the svcd, but it just cant be seen, am i correct?
