struggling with dvd backup

I brought some dvd's for my little girl and would like to make a back up copy due to getting used a lot .
I obviously can't do copy to copy due to copyright so I tried dvd dycrypter which went past the copyright then i tried using dvd lab to burn the cd but it got half way through then a error message came up.
Can anybody give me some guidance as it's driving me mad.
Thanks
Joanne

try LAZ'S totally free and easy guide to dvd backup here :)

dvd lab is better for authoring mpeg 2 video files to dvd rather than using DVD VOB files for a good guide check the link above :)

A lot of people dont like using nero but I never had a problem with it,
if you get one of the newer versions (6) just make a dvd video and drag
all your files to it and burn
if you use a an older version its slightly diff ,because using the dvd video
template causes some compatability problems on playback but there is ways
to make it play on almost anything

I don't know about your burner but I use burnatonce with a Optorite. You could just burn it from DVDshrink with nero or make it an ISO and burn it with DVD Decrypter. Good luck.:)
