Hello!
I've read a few of the excellent tutorials here at DVDRBase.com but I haven't found one that takes new standalone DVD-players that support divX and XviD into consideration regarding burning dvdmedia. For example, http://www.nordichardware.com/reviews/Multimedia/2003/Neuston/ .
I don't know much about burning DVDs but somehow I imagine the support for divX and XviD in DVD-players would make the conversion-burning process less demanding if you're already an owner of an divX or XviD .avi file.
I have a few questions. If these questions already have been answered elsewhere, I would greatly appreciate some helpful directions to where I could find those threads.
1. I've read ChickenMans excellent tutorial "How to convert your DivX's to DVD±R". What would be different in that tutorial given that one only is to play the DVDmedia on a DVD-player that supports divX and XviD such as the Neuston Maestro and does not want to create (S)VCDs? For example, would one still have to convert the .avi file to a MPEG-2 file? Would one still have to separate the audio? I guess one still would have to create the *.VOB, *.IFO and *.BUP files but would their size still be as great?
2. Does the process of "How to convert your DivX's to DVDR" become less extensive given that the DVD-player you only intend to play your created DVDs on supports XviD and DivX? And if so, how?
