split files to 2 dvds- how?

Hi all,
I have successfully backed up a few dvds that needed only to be slightly compressed to fit on the dvd-r disc.
I wanted to back up my copy of LOTR:2 towers but the size means I have to compress it to 10 (dvd shrink) and I am not sure I want it to be this compressed as it will be the backup I play rather than the original.
Is it easy to split the files across two dvds?
Can somebody also point me in the right direction for a web site that explains a screen saver to be put on dvd when the dvd is stopped. I read about it in another thread and wanted to try it out.

You can do this with DVD Shrink. Look in the help section of the program for information on how to use the "start/end" feature. (start/end is the icon on the far right of the program interface.)

Dvdxcopy splits dvds into 2 dvdrs if the size is too big for one dvdr.

Use DVDFab. It is so easy to use. Load your dvd file and just choose "Split to 2 discs". That's it. You can get it from dvdrhelp.com.

Haven't tried it yet, but it looks dead simple.

I agree. With all the DVDsoft that I have been trying lately, DVDFab is a fine choice. Easy to use and it works. I've split several discs that I did not want to change or lose any files on. Works great on every DVD player I've tried the backups on.
