split disc IFOs from #2 don't play nice with PowerDVD 4

I've done a rip and split with DVDStripper from a 2-layer original DVD. The original has 5 VTS groups. Group 4 is the main program and was split between discs. VTS groups 1, 2, 3 and 5 are all assigned to disc 1. VTS 00 has 3 items, the second of which was selected for removal.

After processing, the IFOs for disc 2 do not want to play properly with PowerDVD 4. There will be a few seconds of black screen playback then the play window disappears and PowerDVD is in its default appearance.

Is this a problem with PowerDVD or is the output from DVDStripper ginked up due to the removed content? IOW, If I burn this disc 2 will I get a coaster?

it will all depend on how you have split the DVD and what you have removed as it's still possible to mess up the DVD even with DVDStripper

at most all you should get is a blank screen before the movie plays but it should play the movie just fine.

do you get to the menu or is it bombing out before the menu?

IIRC, the disc 2 was just showing a few seconds of black then terminating, no menu. I'll play around some more tonight in an attempt to re-create the situation. At this point, I'm not sure I remember which disc I was testing. It wasn't something overly complex, just a single program and some short bonus footage.
