split a .mpg

With Tmpeg and, no you don´t have to rencode and you don´t lose any quality cuting files.
Denexo,
i do a vcd with 795mb.
using tmpgenc merge&cut,
cut this in 4 parts.

after cut ,try to burn but,
this 4 parts get more than 860mb.

what is wrong?

As you see in Tmpeg the range beggins from 00:00:00 and ends to 00:00:00, that is time and not size calculating.

@The-poacher and Denexo :

i do kvcd (mpeg1) with 138minutes(02:18)
to make my question clear:
if i cut my film with 795mb(138minutes) in
the middle(2 parts),the total size of this 2 parts have
more than 830mb after i cut in tmpgenc and i can't put it in a cd.

but cut in tmpgenc is boring in this case cos
i get some error in the time where i'm cutting.
if i cut in 60 minutes,i get 57 minutes,
than i redo it again just to get the precise local that i want to cut.
repeat and repeat sometimes ......searching the exact point.
and it's very boring and hard!
the time still the same, but the final size increase!
strange?:(

if i demux the 2 parts in tmpgenc and remux in bbmpeg,
the final size is a little less than 795,works but,
i can get precision (in time) cutting in tmpgenc,

some idea?
thanks in advance!:)

jorel, thats the price you pay for playing with non standard stuff my friend ! Stick with bbMPEG. In the case of kvcd, time is now NOT the issue but length in mb. Time is only relevant to standard VCD's. If you vary the bitrate in the kvcd, then there is no standard relationship between movie length in min to length in mb. bbMPEG is about the only muxer that will work for you in this case.

you are correct in all parameters CM !

i do kvcds cos put more time (180minutes) in one cd,
and i made this for my kids.
if the cd broke,i have a backup and copy it again.
the image is fantastic ,better than standard vcd.(really)

the problem is cutting in size (transitions, just like chapters) that i want.

TMPGEnc is not frame precise. There is MPG editors that cut with frame precision, such as M1-Edit or Myflix.
thanks bro Fox Mulder.....,
do you give us the links for home pages, please?
thanks in advance.:)
