Sound stutters when playing a divx movie

This just started recently. When playing a divx movie the sound stutters every 10-20 seconds or so. This didn't use to happen and only happens when playing a divx movie, not on anything else.

Tried updated my sound card drivers, didn't help. Any ideas?


And btw, it isn't made like that, it happens on divx movies I made when the sound was just fine.

Do all DivX stutter on your PC, or just the ones you have made? What speed is your CPU? Have you played the problem DivX on another PC? Last one, what speed do you burn them at?

I had this problem. Was caused by encoding with DVDx and having resync audio ticked on the input settings.

My cpu is fast enough, and xp 1700+. This problem is happening on divx movies that before sounded just fine. So it isn't just one ones I recently made. I usually burn them at 8x. But these are ones I haven't even burned yet, still on my hd.

I've narrowed it down to media player. Using the vidomi divx player the sound is all fine. I also only use vidomi to make divx movies.

Arr someone else had similar problem and tracked it to crappy drivers for Sound card. Got new drivers, installed and all was well. Worth a try.
