Sound out of sync - used search but still no wiser

Okay, total newbie here to DVD authoring so give me some slack please! I've done a search on lip sync problems and read the tutorials but I am not sure it answers my problem. Okay, desciption of problem below -

When playing backed up discs on a Ronin P907 player, the sounds sometimes (often) goes out of sync, often it seems after a chapter change. This is cured, for the rest or most of the rest of that chapter by stopping the disc and starting again.

Having read others problems it seemed that the sound is permanently out of sync whereas here it just seems to lose the plot now and again. Is this an encoding problem, a media problem or a player problem? (the player is new and under suspicion because it also seems to have a slight stutter noticeable during slow pans even on original discs - happens about once per second, so not sure if its in great health or not). The burner used was a Pioneer 108 and the media was Datawrite grey 8x discs burned at mid speed (so guess x8 as its a x16 burner) using RecordNow.

Any help appreciated before I get majorly hacked off having to stop start movies all the time to avoid them looking like dodgy dubbed pornos or kung foo movies :D

But the ooooo's and arrrrrhhhhsss's of each type of film ;) would be even more out than usual. You'd be getting the sound of the money shot when the dodgy jazz music should be playing for the next scene. :D

Seriously though, it's hacking me off as I cannot figure if its the players fault or the recording process or the media!

Your burner and media is of and shouldnt be causeing a problem. The 108 is not directly supported by the latest pxengine in RNM (unless you have a hacked/patched dll file) so try another burning software like Nero. They have a fully funtional time limited demo.

Play the burn DVD on your PC or in a friends DVD Player to see if the problem persists. If not, then its your player as you suspect.
