Sound Forge 7.0 (also CD Architect 5.) does NOT see my CD-drives

hi,

neither soundforge 7.0 nor cd architect 5.0 see my cd-drives
(just says "None") - at the same time the cd-architect explorer window DOES show the *.cda tracks of audio disk inserted in either drive.

when attempting to play a track from audio cd - there is no sound
- system completely mute (though file would play normally in
winamp and the like).

have checked ASPI layer - and same is o.k./installed corrctly/functioning.
(hv also got latest nero wnaspi installed together with this burning package).

any ideas ?

have blindwrite suite installed, - can it be the additional VSO driver (Patin-Couffin) which spoils things ?

many thanks for any suggestion on how to solve this problem

Nero 6 has been causing a lot of troubles, this may be part of your problem you could use forceaspi to delete completely any version of ASPI and then do a reinstall, version 4.60 is the trouble free.

Run "ReistryChecker" from Nero's FTP, which may resolve conflits in the Windows filters registry entries.
BTW too many burning programs installed is equivalent to asking for trouble.
