Santa Cruz...by a long shot! This is mainly due to the fact that Creative's Sound Blaster Live/Audigy drivers suck in an WinXP or VIA environment. It's actually a hardware conflict, but the latest drivers seem to have helped the situation somewhat. Plus you MUST find a PCI slot that does not share with any other device...very difficult to do nowadays with all this Windows IRQ sharing!

The Turtle Beach Santa Cruz on the other hand, is a breeze in XP and VIA chipsts. The hardware has no conflicts and the software works without a hitch. I have yet to hear a complaint about these sound cards!

Turtle Beach cards are great, I've been using the Montego II Plus for the last 2-3 years with no problems.

If you are looking for a good audio card consider Terratec cards - although I believe there isn't great driver support for newer operating systems.

Go with the Santa Cruz

bode :)

I hate my Sound Blaster and the IRQ and driver issues; and Creative support SUCKS.
So I think that with the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz you won't have this and the crappy AC97 codec of the sound blasters... :)

I've got an audigy in my rig:
1900xp
ASUS A7V333
512 ddr
Gainward gf4 ti4600 golden sample
SB Audigy
etc,etc,blah,blah
It's still an ok'ish gaming system but i've lost track of the times i've had to fanny about with eax and h/w acceleration settings to get some games to run properly.....so i'd go for the santa cruz m8, i've not heard of many peeps that have probs with the santa cruz..
