sonydvdcam ac3 sound plextor wont read--help!

plextor told me to download dvd's into their system, but I dont know how...sony claims they must download into their software system? do i need to convert the sound and if so how? please advise

the plextor px708a will not support ac3 audio, i know i was confusing, sorry...i have been looking around to find someway to either convert the audio to a format it will read or do i need new software. obv i am a newbie, and its home movies from my sony dvd-handycam that i am trying to burn. video will copy fine but w/o sound? running in circles...thanks!

thanks..if it is a conversion prob, how do I do it...i have tried virtualdub, moviefactory, roxio and roxio and moviefact cant read ac3 audio, and vdub is telling me I have no comprssor device? I am very new to this obv, but am frustrated and spending hours reading diff tutorials and chats and getting nowhere...plextor is at fault cause it cant read ac3 :) i have minidvds from a cam that i'm trying to save as dvd-r's so i can reuse the minidvds, but it records with ac3 audio..pls advise...thanks

Okay...I'm not an expert on this stuff.Never dealt with this problem before. ;)

However we are getting more required information from you.I assumed your camcorder used dv tapes.So your camcorder records directly to mini dvd.So you're trying to copy these to a dvdr?

Why not just use Dvddecrypter to create an image of the minidisc,and burn to a dvdr?Is the Plextor not able to read the minidisc?

Oh...what software are using to play the disc on your computer?Win Dvd or,Power dvd should play them with audio no problem.Did you test the dvdr's on a set top player(TV).
