Sony CRX175E now burns 3 times slower, WHY??

I used to burn at average 4:30mins
but now it is getting end errors after 99% or 100% and taking 10min or longer to burn.
Anyone having the same problem who can give me some advice please do.
Btw, I took the burner to a Sony technition today and it worked perfect for him.

What O/S and burning software are you using?

Also, did the slow down occur shortly after you installed some new application or upgrade..?

I cant recall what started the problems but that is of no significance now as I just installed a completly new 98 with the first software being nero 5.5.5.1 and it still burned a disc in 11 mins.

1. Enable DMA for both hdd and crx175e
2. Use the bundled version 5.5.8.1

this may solve your problem
