SONY C13:00 Code

Can anyone help with advise on correcting this annoying error message on my Sony DVD player (model # DVP-S536D).
The code is supposed to highlight the fact the disc is dirty, however it offers the error message on new discs and perfectly clean discs?????

The problem with C13:00 (Disk is dirty) error is usually very easy to be fixed. The error is probably based on the different reflexion of the laser beam, which can be caused either by any kind of the dirt on the bottom layer OR, FREQUENTLY by a sticker or any legend made by a black marker (or any kind of dark and thick) on the UPPER side. I suggest NOT to put anything on the top side.

is this with all disks or just backups !?


note this also seems to be a VERY common problem with SONY players

This happens with 70% of all discs, movie, backup, you name it.
The biggest frustration is if you persevere the disc or should I say the machine decides its had enough of freaking me out, it decides to play the movie!!!!
Can this be rectified?????
