Sonic Foundy Products do not see Burners

I am running and an Athelon XP 2800+ w/1 gb of RAM, XP w/ all current MS upgrades/patches. I have 2 drives on IDE channel 1 (WD120's), 2 Burners (Sony DVD RW DRU-510A [master] and LiteOn LTR-522462 [slave]) on IDE channel 2 as well as two drives on a raid card (also WD 120's).

This system has worked blazingly well for three to four months using Avid XpressDV 3.5, Sound Fogre 6, Vegas 4 and Nero 6 Ultra for burning. I just got DVD Architect 1 and tried to burn from it and alas, DVDA, Vegas, CDArch. and Acid 4 can not see my burners.

I read about an ASPI layer conflict with Nero and InCd so I uninstalled them, cleaned my registry but still, no drives available in Sonic Foundry programs. Keep in mind that the drive come up in Device Manager and Nero (when it is installed).

I decided to cut to the chase and do a clean install of XP on another boot partition installing only needed drivers (Matrox display, RME digicard) and Vegas 4d and DVD Arch 1c and unfortunately - no burning devices are seen....

I am pulling my hair out (and I don;t have that much to begin with)searching the web for similar tales of woe, but I am unable to find help. I am at you mercy kind people of the DVDR base. Can you help?

Thanks in advance,

Sean

Thanks for the reply BaNzI.

Unfortunately, even if DVD Arch. is not installed, CD Arch is not seeing the drives nor is Acid. Very strange.

Hi loneoutpost1, Welcome to our forum! :)

i don't know DVD Arch. but if it uses the PX burning engine you may need this update:

Poblem solved... maybee.

My machine's MB uses the Nvidia Gforce chipset, which has it's own unique ide driver. After updating that drive I am finding some success.

I will let you know how this turns out. Thanks for the response.
