Sonic DVD Fusion v.3.01

I downloaded and installed this today. It seems the version on this site does not include all files (to save download size I guess).

I can import my MPEG2 file into the movie board, and it separates movie and audio files. When I try to add it to the project, only the Video will be accepted.

Also I can't seem to figure out why it won't let me make menu items (backgrounds / button controls).

When I tell it to transcode the movie, it creates a DVD without any audio.

What am I doing wrong here?

Also, I have DVDit! 2.3 PE and it when I try to add the MPEG2, DVD Compliant movie, it tells me it can't find a suitable decoder.

This program worked just a few days ago, and now suddenly my MPEG2 files can't be imported.

If I could get this program to work I'd be happy. It has fairly nice menu options compared to say.... MyDVD.

MyDVD will properly import the MPEG2 files in question (created using Pinnacle Studio 7, love this program for capture/edit). I use the DVD compliant presets. It all works good with MyDVD but that program is so damn lame where menus are concerned I can't stand it.

I'm looking to find Ulead DVD workshop and/or ReelDVD to see if they are any better.

Suggestions...

hey mate ... all files r included... otherwise it wouldn´t have a size of 74mb ?!
try to demultiplex your mpeg2 file and import the movie file + the audio file ...
menu:
just drag and drop a movie to the menu box --> new item with picture ;) or just import some jpg´s and drop them into them menu box ...this will work too ...
don´t transcode your movies with authoring software ...use TMPEG enc or CCE...

Yes it's a big download. The reason I thought I wasn't complete is because none of the HELP files are there when I click from the menu bar.

Also it does seperate the video / audio when I import my MPEG2 files, but it won't let me drag the audio file over when converting to a VIDEO_TS directory. It just won't accept the audio at all.

It's a compliant file with 48khz audio but Fusion will have none of that. The very same files come out just fine using MyDVD but I hate the lack of menu/button creation options.

It would be nice if DVDit! would just provide the needed CODEC for my files. I would be perfectly happy with that program, until I noticed that it couldn't find an suitable decoder. That really sucks. I created one DVD with DVDit and it worked fine. To my knowledge I did use the same Pinnacle DVD presets. I can't figure out why that was the one and only MPEG2 file it would work with.

What gives... This shi* sucks hard...

hmm... I think the prob isn´t the prob ;) .... don´t drag ´n drop the audio "over" the movie stream ... double click on the movie stream and then a new window should appear (it looks the same as Scenarist NT does) there u can add the audio by moving it below the movie stream .... take a look @ the scenarist guide to see how the "new" window should look like ... ;)

Okay, I'll give it another shot after I get home from work tonight. Perhaps I just didn't know how to proceed with the task at hand. I tried to click on a help section but the menu options are all grayed out and not available.

Okay, I tried it again after a bit of reading. It works... But man what a learning curve this thing has. It's like the first time I used Adobe Photoshop and didn't know what all those tools did.

I'll keep in on my harddrive and learn the thing, but making menu buttons and things are not a simple task without having a few to start you out with.

I still wish DVDit! would have worked out. It had just enough for a newbie to be happy, but not so sophisticated as to boggle my confused brain like DVD Fusion is for the moment.

Thanks for the help. The test video file decoded without any problems at all. The audio wasn't added the first time simply because I didn't know how or where to add the thing. It all worked this time except making of menus... (but that's due to the learning of the program).
