Something wrong with my Nero =/

hey, I got a little problem with Nero 5.5.9.9
the thing is, after I install it-reboot, nothing's wrong at it can burn and works normaly. But when I start the computer again, and starts Nero, a message pops up saying : "The Nero executeable file was modified! Maybe your PC is infected by a computer virus! check your pc for viruses and something like that, then they say, if no viruses is found, please make a full reinstall."
well, I checked for viruses, but didn't find any, then I reinstalled Nero, and after I reboot, it worked normaly again, but when I switch the comp. on and off again, the same message pops up. Can anyone help me with this, I don't want to reinstall Nero every time I want to burn something. Oh, and are there any ofter good burning programs similar to Nero?

Does the antivirus you use do anything to files - some have an option to "inoculate", tagging a file with change detection info - if that's the case, set the antivirus NOT to inoculate files (or exclude those that it causes trouble with) - or to use a single database instead of applying to files.

Have you tried other Nero versions? the current download is 5.5.10.42 ... it's possible the version you have is corrupted.

I had the same thing happen; turned out to be corrupted install media. Uninstalled, removed program folder and registry entries, re-downloaded version and reinstalled. Worked.

hey, thanks alot for the advice. Turned out that I had more than one virus. Oh, and that online scan was very useful, that just shows how much my antivirus program suck's. Now everything works normaly =)

Glad U sorted it <> for some reason when virii attack exe. files nero seems to get bounced & realises it has happened & lets U know.
