some lines in the film when i convert

hi,
i convert one DVD to DivX by A1 DVD Ripper professional. It give best result
but i don't know how to set the setting in Divx codec.any one know about it?

another problem when i convert another DVD to DivX the video contain some hrizontal lines around the object or person.(that is when some object move or camera move it comes).i tried to avoid this by copy DVD video to HDD and convert it into Divx, but same result.
any one know how to get good video

Sounds like the source is interlaced, either de-interlace before encoding or encode interlaced.

Well it has been a long, long time since I encoded anything with DivX, however it has a setting somewhere I am sure to enable interlaced encoding, also if I recall an option to de-interlace. Not sure how well it works though, you would probably be better of frameserving with AVISynth and using that to de-interlace; settings depend on your source.
