solution to direct link probs

just a suggestion, if the administrator uncheck the "automatically parse URLs" option in the "options" under "message," all the internet addresses post by users will not be direct links--unless the user checks the "automatically parse URLs" option.

or watever won't be live/direct links. I think it'll be more convinient..just copy & paste. no need to copy, paste, then correct that changes to the url.

then the option that this box is automatically checked could be disabled in the templates for post reply and post new thread

That is correct, but I do not want to change the templatest too much, since in the next VBB version there might be total new templates ! :(
I think this rule isn´t that hard to obey, so ...

i never had problems following it, after posting a reply it takes you direct to your post and you see if something isn't correct

why not use a redirector -> h++p://safeurl.de - they have on this side examples for boarduse too ...

possibly in the future s_p. Often though redirectors go offline & then nobody will get to the url they want but we'll see in the future.
This topic gets discussed often with the mods/admins so just have to wait in future if it happens.
