Software for HD recording

Hi, everybody. I have been using InterVideo WinDVR (this software was included with the TV tuner card I bought) for recording tv programs. This software do the compression to the MPEG2 standard during the recording: this process is too much expensive for my system configuration, so I am not able to get well-recorded programs. I wonder if there is a software that records in a not compressed filetype. Can you help me?

Intervideo products are not so good--they are commercials, but with average quality-youll be much better with vdub-you can record in a avi container for example-to keep things sinple and with noncompresed video&audio...Filesize is going to be huge, but you can compress after to xvid+mp3 or ogg,or you can make a ogm file..
I use iyvcr-its a commercial app but much better then intervideo and im getting much less dropped frames then with a vdub :)
Check this out :)
