so ... which is better dvd-r or dvd+r?

In the last thread similar to this one, ppl didn't answer the the REAL question that most/all of us would like to be answered -

which one is better/most compatible for use on a PS2?

If both DVD-R and DVD+R work on a PS2 console, why would any one go for the DVD-R format as all the other big name companies (Verbatim, Ricoh, etc.)are backing the DVD+R/DVD+RW format?

Plus, the DVD+R format burns the data to the media faster than DVD-R.

hmm... the problem is that nobody is able to say +r or -r is better for PS2 backups cause nobody owns both recorders ...

try our search button and read the topics about PS2 backups ... --> everybody used -R ... maybe that´s the answer !

btw. MATUSHITA anounced 4x recording for -R !!! (coming soon)

DVD-R is more compatible to standalone players than DVD+R
DVD-R Media are cheaper ....

but it´s not possible to say one standard is better than the other ...

I would say : DVD-R offers more pros for me than +R ...
Everybody has to decide for himself ...

Until now, all test shows that DVD+R is as compatible as DVD-R.

For prices:
DVD-R: you will get unbranded 1 X for $1
DVD+R:you will get Ritek for $3, and HP for $4
