So - I have an mpeg bigger than the world!

OK so I follow the tutorials and convert my avi to mpeg2 with Mainconcept and I now have a file at 4.5gb (from an 800mb avi) with the following errors:
- M031 - Unable to write dvd nav pack to program file
- P003 Cant write current pcm buffer to audio file
- error in converting the parameter is incorrect
Despite all this I still have most of the film except the final titles.
How do I get this 4.5 mpeg on a dvd, in any format so I can watch this on a standalone dvd player?
Sorry but I cannot find a tute that refers to this stage of the game from here on.
Thx - I know there is a simple answer that is staring me in the face, plse let me know what it is.

why you doing the converting i thought there were warz out there that you could just drag and burn premiere pro 7 is one of them and i thought nero 6.0 does this also and tmpg and so on....they all accept avi to burn to dvd watchable on a normal tv dvd player

Why are you using Mainconcept to do the conversions? Pic quality is rather ordinary using that, have a read of the Tutorials here if you want a quick but fantastic quality: http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=25572
