Slowing Burn Speed In Nero

I'm using the latest version of Nero and when I burn VCD's I'd like to burn them at 4X. But the slowest I can do with my Lite On 24X
burner on Nero is 8X, is there a way to get it to burn at 4X?

4x

The reason for burning at 4x is Ps2 compatatability.
Sometimes it has problems with discs burnt at higher speed.
There something about it in Chickenmans VCD tutorial.:)

The lasers in a cdr drive and ps2 console are different so to compensate its best to slow the write down as daveml said.Unfortunatly the Liteons slowest write speed is 8x.

It is not just for PS2 compatibility. Most of the DVD players I have tested here (Sony, Aiwa, Panasonic, Philips, JVC, Apex *pioneer has no probs), can't read much above 4X speeds. It is better internationally that way (incase you also trade). Also standalone VCD players cannot read past 4X well (there are some but not many).
That does suck about the Lite-On burners. The best speed is actually 2X (which none of the newest drives can do) cause most lasers are set at 2X reading speeds. So it isn't about loss of quality, but about player compatibility. If someone trades VCDs with me, I won't take it unless it is 4X or below.
