Silver Top DVD-R's

Hi all, Couldn't find much info on what everyone thought of Silvertop DVD-R's

I know in regards to CDR's they're not meant to be very good media... What about DVD's though? Is it the same and the top is meant to peal off easily? Or are they a pretty decent type of media to burn onto?

Any help or thoughts appreciated :)

Hi it's hard to tell without knowing who makes the disk or the type of dye use.
A Grade Ritek Dye x4 silver are well safe not sure about the 2x ones.
As are the 4X RITEK RIDATA G04 FROSTED disks & Mirror 2X

Now, there is a program which is used to work out who makes the discs right?
I forgot what it is :)

There quite a few but have a look at these DVD Identifier ..Freeware Homepage
'DVD Identifier' retrieves and interprets the pre-recorded information that is present on all DVD+R/+RW and DVD-R/-RW media. This information contains a variety of parameters such as disc manufacturing information and supported write speeds. Even though this information is usually printed on the packaging, the brand name may differ from the actual manufacturer or there may even be no label at all. 'DVD Identifier' offers a reliable method to identify the disc, regardless of the label information.

Yep, unlike silver CDR's you will not get the problems associated with CDR's on a silver DVDR so buy in confidence that any silver is as good as a frosted top etc. :)

Thanks a lot guys.. Will use that program tonight when I get home and let you know what sort they are... So i can grab an opinion on them :)

As I have 100 of them sitting on my desk :p

Fantatsic... Ran that DVD Identifier program.....

Burns at 1x 2x 4x ( I knew that already)
DVD-R (no kidding) :D
Manufacturer ID - Not Present on Disc (fantastic)
